Everyone is Different...So Why Are You Following Everyone Else’s Workout Plan?
Fad workouts are great for getting people excited about exercise. We see people doing them maybe, for some of them, it works. You try it yourself, but it’s not as much fun as it seems to other people.
What’s the problem? Is it you?
No!
The problem is that you’re trying to fit in with everyone else. You’re not listening to your own body and mind.
What’s Your Personal Workout Style?
Are you a slow and steady person? OR A powerful go-getter?
Do you like to sweat a lot? OR Do you like to stretch and take it easy?
Do you want to be slim and toned? OR Big and Strong?
Your answers to these questions will give you an idea of what your workout style is. Maybe you’re a mixture of all of them. Most of us are.
These questions show just how individual each of us is. We all have different wants and needs, as well as different things that we like and hate.
So, then, why are you following everyone else’s workout plan?
Find Yourself
When it comes to exercise, one size does not fit all. That’s the problem with the old-fashioned approach to diet and exercise. It doesn’t make sense to think that one approach works for everyone.
But, still, we try, over and over again. Then, when the latest diet plan doesn’t work, we give up. We chalk the failure up to our weakness. We become resigned to our flabby, lazy lifestyle.
Don’t lose heart! What you need is a totally new approach.
The Keys to Real Change
Here’s the problem: if your workout plan doesn’t work for you, you won’t stick to it. If you have a great workout plan that fits your needs and wants, you will be able to do it for the rest of your life.
Fighting fat and getting into great shape doesn’t just happen to you. You’ve got to make it happen!
FOUR STEPS TO CHANGE:
STEP ONE
The first step is figuring out what it is that works for you. Your exercise profile is as unique as you are. Speed, intensity, endurance, technique--each of these factors come into play when you’re pinpointing your workout needs.
Think about what kind of exercise you will be able to do consistently.
STEP TWO
Learn about fitness so you can do your best.
Sometimes, when we do fad workouts and exercises, we aren’t sure exactly what it’s doing for us or why it works.
A little knowledge can go a long way in the fight against fat. Here at Burn360, we believe that the more you know about WHY you’re doing something, the better you will be at doing it.
STEP THREE
Target your workout plan to your flaws.
Have a big belly? There are exercises for that.
Have chicken legs? There are exercises for that.
Want to lose those flabby arms? There are exercises for that.
If you don’t have chicken legs, why are you wasting your time on bulking them up? Just because it’s a part of a fitness fad program?
Don’t just do what everyone else is doing. Do what is best for your own body.
STEP FOUR
Don’t be afraid to switch it up!
A common mistake people make when choosing a fitness routine is thinking that they have to do the same thing every day. But variety is the spice of life. Bring in different types of exercise. Yoga, cardio, sports—all of these can be part of your playbook.
If you keep things interesting, you’re more likely to stick with your new fitness lifestyle.
