Savory Steak and Mushroom Skewers
Instead of burgers and hot dogs at your next barbecue, these easy steak skewers will give your cookout a steakhouse like atmosphere.

Rich and flavorful, a good grass-fed steak cubed and grilled with mushrooms and onions is sure to be a hit. A drizzle of balsamic vinegar at the end adds more flavor.
My favorite steak to use is rib eye. Chuck eye makes a less expensive alternative. If you're looking for something leaner, sirloin works...but it's good to marinade it beforehand. Rib eye and chuck eye steaks have a lot of fat that helps keep the steak tender during cooking.
Tip: You can use wooden or metal skewers for these, but if you use wood, you should soak them first to keep them from catching fire.
Ingredients:
1 pound beef, cubed
12 button mushrooms
1 onion, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon thyme
Sea salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste

- Thread the beef, mushrooms, and onion onto skewers.
- Brush with oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill until steak is cooked to your liking, and mushrooms and onions are charred.
- Brush with vinegar and sprinkle with thyme.
